About Us
Husband and wife Todd and Nicole Wiss, who met while working at Poste Moderne Brassiere in the Hotel Monaco, became the proud owners of Radius in April 2009. With a combined 18 years on the DC restaurant scene, Todd and Nicole were ready to launch into the world of restaurant entrepreneurship. They purchased Radius and embarked on their life-long dream of owning their own restaurant. Executive Chef Todd, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, took over the kitchen and ever since has been dishing up creations that satisfy the senses. Having spent the entirety of her career managing both casual and fine dining restaurants in DC, Nicole's passion for front-of-the-house hospitality is evident the moment you arrive at Radius.
Todd describes his cooking style as "simple, fresh and seasonal." While directing a highly successful James Beard Dinner during his tenure working with Chef Weland of Poste Brassiere, Todd realized his passion for farm-to-table cooking. One bite of his crispy, delectable pizza, hand-made pasta or delicate entrees featuring seasonal, locally sourced produce, meats and cheeses, and you will surely be convinced of his dedication to this initiative.
On their days off, Todd and Nicole can usually be found hanging around the dog park or going for long walks with their two Pitt Bull rescues, Barley and Hops. Pitts are truly a passion for this family, and you can read more about the rescues they support on their website.
